When I was around 12 or 13 I would help my dad, who’s a bespoke bathroom fitter, during the summer holidays on a few of his jobs. So I started getting an idea about what I wanted to do from a young age. Itching to get out there and learn a trade when I left school, I came across an advert for an “Apprentice Kitchen Fitter” at Cruz Kitchens, perfect! I applied and got the job.

After completing my apprenticeship in carpentry, I went self employed. Specialising in kitchen fitting I sub-contracted with Cruz Kitchens for around 8 years, gaining extensive experience fitting a wide variety of designs, and taking pride in making a customers dream kitchen become a reality.

I knew we could offer a more complete service, and was becoming frustrated with projects being put on hold while having to wait for other tradespeople to complete parts of the job. So, I completed a City and Guilds Part P Electricians course. This allows me to undertake minor domestic electrical work, keeping projects moving forward and saving time for our clients.

While working as an apprentice for OEB Carpentry I qualified with an NVQ level 2 in site carpentry at Reading college in 2014. This gave me a great foundation and understanding of all types of carpentry work, and the opportunity to meet and work with other trades.

It was in 2015 that I began specialising in kitchen fitting, joining Elements Kitchen Design as a kitchen fitter. Working for Elements I began to really develop a keen eye for good functional design and a meticulous attention to detail.

After 5 years with Elements I decided it was time to team up with Connor and set up Wilson & White Kitchens. Using all the contacts and skills I’ve learned along the way, taking great pride in my workmanship, we are able to undertake all aspects of kitchen fitting from appliances to worktops and everything in-between!
